As part of UM's Culture of Safety, the library is asking students, faculty, and staff to adhere to the following guidelines:
The library is currently open to UM students, faculty, and staff only.
Everyone must wear a mask inside the library, covering both the mouth and nose.
Social distancing of 6’ is expected in the library. Please do not rearrange any furniture which has been configured to meet social distancing requirements.
Seating capacity is approximately 50 on the ground floor, 42 on the main floor, and 48 on the top floor (Note: This number does not include soft seating, computer workstations, the mobile classroom, or the LEC tutoring area). If the floor you are on becomes crowded, you may be asked to move to another floor.
Group study rooms are not available at this time.
“Social distancing” capacity for library spaces has been posted next to rooms and on the library website.
Entrances and staircases have been labeled to facilitate socially distanced traffic flow.
Please do not eat in the library this Spring. You may take your food to the picnic tables located outside the front and back entrances. Quick drinks from beverages in covered containers are OK.
While you can browse and pull materials to check-out, we encourage you to try our curbside pickup service or book retrieval service that is offered at the Circulation Desk. Scan and deliver service for articles and chapters of books in our collection is also an option for remote students.
Please be aware of the revised hours of operation for the Spring semester. Hours have been modified to allow library staff to properly clean and prepare for enhanced safety.
